Nutraceutical Business Review: UK Plant Could Improve Health of Chronically Ill
Research conducted by the University of Alberta in Edmonton Canada looked at using oil from the seeds of Buglossoides Arvensis, commonly referred to as Ahiflower®, a common weed found in the UK, and compared them to soybean and fish oil in a Total Parental Nutrition (TPN) study using mice. The results were powerful – significantly lower inflammation, marked improvement in key immunity factors significantly improved insulin sensitivity and an improved gut microflora.
