NutraIngredients: Ahiflower® Oil Matches Marine DHA for Tissue DHA Needs: Study

Ahiflower® oil has been the focus of a new study by Prof. Richard Bazinet, Assistant Prof. Adam Metherel and their research team. This study explores the omega-3 fatty acids present in Ahiflower (Buglossoides arvensis) oil shown to help synthesize DHA (docosahexaenoic acid) in key tissues like the liver, fat, and brain in mice in an animal study published in BBA – Molecular and Cell Biology of Lipids, even though Ahiflower oil doesn’t contain DHA.
